How do I use Strum?

Once Strum is available and connected in ChatGPT, ask for chords by song or artist. Choose a recording if there are several matches. You can also paste a link to a public YouTube video and ask Strum to get its chords.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Strum’s ChatGPT plugin is free and needs no Strum account. We don’t impose a per-person request quota. ChatGPT’s own availability and plan requirements still apply.

Why is my YouTube chart taking time?

New charts require audio preparation and chord recognition. The card shows the current stage and refreshes while open. You can ask ChatGPT to check the job again later. Processing can take a few minutes or longer when the services are busy.

Why did generation fail?

Private, removed, restricted, or otherwise inaccessible videos may not work. The audio provider may also reject long or unsupported recordings, or be temporarily unavailable. Try a public recording with clear musical accompaniment. Use material you’re entitled to process.

Can I change the key or use a capo?

Yes. Transpose changes the sounding key. Capo changes the displayed finger shapes while keeping that key. Diagrams use standard guitar tuning, E A D G B E.

Does the chart play music or show lyrics?

Strum in ChatGPT provides chords and timing. The practice timer is silent; play your recording separately. Lyrics and audio or video downloads aren’t part of this plugin.

A chord looks wrong.

Automatic recognition is an estimate. Different recordings, unusual voicings, and complex mixes can produce different results. Check by ear and send us the song link and timestamp if you find an error.

Email the same support address for access, correction, deletion, or rights concerns. For a chart removal request, include the video link and explain your relationship to the content. Read our privacy policy and terms.
